Assisted Home Care Services

A phone call or email between our care coordinator and the client (or their designated proxy, usually a family member or friend), gets the ball rolling. We will collect important information about your loved one, their needs and then make initial comments and recommendations.

After that we suggest a no-obligations care assessment to glean additional details which can’t be obtained over the phone or by email. The information is used to formulate a customized plan of care. This meeting may also include an introduction of a potential caregiver to the client and family. After this meeting we can start home care services upon acceptance of our service offerings.

Yes, our home care assessments are free of charge. A home care assessment allows us to gather and analyze your loved one’s requirements while also giving a client and family the oppoprtunity to meet us and know in advance what our plan of care will be. It also allows us to to get to know each other and feel comfortable before starting services.

Yes. We research and carefully pre-select one or more caregivers based on your loved one’s requirements and personality and then introduce who we feel will be the best fit for the circumstances. The client always makes the final decision on choice of caregiver.

We serve the greater New York City area, including Bronx, Queens, Kings, Staten Island (South Beach, Midland Beach), Brooklyn, Sheepshead Bay, Richmond and Nassau County, New York..

All of our caregivers are put through a demanding screening process. This includes in-person interviews, confirming caregiver training and experience, performing previous employment reference checks, doing a DMV check and a criminal background check.

We pay the caregiver directly. Our company fully employs the caregivers and takes care of all associated taxes, withholdings and insurance.

We employ all of our caregivers. They are not hired by our clients.

Yes, we are an approved provider of services paid for by Medicaid and Medicare, including many Medicare approved insurance companies. Medicaid patients qualify for home care services if they are enrolled in Managed Long Term Care Plans. Assisted Home Care Services understands the difficulties and intricacies of qualifying and we take a personal approach with every patient to ensure efficient and painless enrollment process.

We accept any form of private payment, including checks, cash and credit cards.  Our services are also covered by most major health insurance companies as well as long term care insurance policies that may cover our services.

We always have a care supervisor on call to address urgent matters and emergencies. We are available 24/7, 365 days a year.
